Sustainability and the Environment
Sourcing
We collaborate with suppliers of the best single origin speciality grade 100% Arabica coffees, sourced from all over the world, from a single farm or plantation, who ensure the farmers receive the right price. Coffee is a product reliant on weather conditions and human processing where problems can always occur so paying a supportive price enables them to respect their land and look after their people at origin and in turn improve their farming techniques and help pave the way for more sustainable and ethical coffee. Packaging, Recycling and Logistics
As a business we continually look for new opportunities to reduce our impact on the environment, none more so than areas that we have most control over. We choose to use fully recyclable material for our coffee pouches which can be taken to your local waste facility or supermarket that may offer a recycling solution for soft plastics. The roast style labels we apply are non-bleached recycled paper. The jute sacks that the coffee beans are delivered in are recycled into loft insulation by Sisalwool.com
Our outer packaging used for delivery of your order is a single or double thickness cardboard box or mailer made from 60-90% recycled plus FSC Certified materials and fully reusable/recyclable, it's plastic free when paired with paper tape and labels. Occasionally, for smaller deliveries, we use eco mailing bags made from a by-product of sugar cane, and grown on reclaimed waste land, therefore having no impact on the rainforest. 100% fully recyclable, they use no fossil fuels and are produced from the greenest material on the market.
For large/bulk deliveries we may re-use clean outer packaging that our suppliers have used, again encouraging a no-waste attitude.
In all, we constantly revisit our choice of logistics to prioritise packaging and shipping companies that share our environmental beliefs.
